USED MOTORCYCLE GUARANTEE GUIDELINES

We hope that you can enjoy many trouble free miles on your new motorcycle without any problems occurring.  If however, you do encounter a fault with your machine during the agreed guarantee period, then, if you follow the guidelines below, we will endeavour to rectify the problem as swiftly as possible in order to keep your time off road to a minimum.

Benefits

Bill Smith Motors (Gwynedd) guarantees that throughout the agreed guarantee period of      3   calendar months from the date of purchase, they will replace or repair free of charge, any part of the motorcycle which has failed through a material defect or incorrect assembly subject to the following conditions and limitations.

Additionally Bill Smith Motors(Gwynedd) will extend the period of guarantee cover for a further 3 calendar months from the end of this period provided the machine is returned to us for a full service as specified by the manufacturer, within 5 working days before the end of the first guarantee period.

Conditions

·           The guarantee agreement is between "Bill Smith Motors(Gwynedd)" and the "Purchaser" only and is not transferable.

·           The motorcycle/scooter has been serviced and maintained in accordance with the manufacturers routine schedule.

·           The motorcycle/scooter has not been subjected to misuse and has not been operated with fuels or lubricants which are not recommended.

·           The machine has only been used for the purpose for which it was designed.

·           This guarantee does not give entitlement to a replacement machine in the event of a mechanical 0r electrical failure.

·           Care has been taken to ensure the machine is kept clean and free from chemical attack.

·           In the event of a defect arising, the suspected fault must be reported to "Bill Smith Motors(Gwynedd)" within three days.  The motorcycle/scooter must then be inspected by "Bill Smith Motors(Gwynedd)" within ten days in order to apply for a repair under this guarantee.  Only repairs agreed between "Bill Smith Motors(Gwynedd)" and the "Purchaser" will be carried out under this guarantee agreement.

Limitations

This guarantee does not extend to :

·           Damage caused by improper use.

·           Damage caused by use in races/rallies or other competitive sports.

·           Damage caused by fire, accident or collision.

·           Damage caused by installation of accessories not originally supplied with the machine.

·           Damage caused by the fitment of non approved accessories/spare parts.

·           Damage caused by improper maintenance or setup by another dealer or individual.

·           Damage caused by neglect, corrosion, intrusion of foreign matter, over heating or freezing.

·           Damage caused by the continued use of the machine after a fault has become evident.

·           Damage caused through improper transportation or storage.

·           This guarantee does not extend to cover the costs of transportation to or from "Bill Smith Motors(Gwynedd)"   before or following repairs.

·           Replacement or adjustment due to normal deterioration.

·          Replacement or adjustment of service items which have a lifespan based on usage and are expected to be replaced/serviced during use.  Examples of such parts include, but is not limited to, tyres, tubes/valves, brake shoes/pads, batteries, bulbs, filters, spark plugs, clutch components, drive chains and sprockets, cables, certain gaskets, seals and bearings

. Your statutory rights remain unaffected by anything contained in this guarantee.
